Fluid Art and Alcohol Ink Art
Fluid art, also known as acrylic pouring, is an abstract painting technique that involves pouring liquid acrylic paints mixed with a medium onto a surface, allowing them to flow and interact naturally. We can use various techniques like dirty pours, swiping, and adding silicone to create organic, flowing designs and cell-like patterns. The process is spontaneous and intuitive, making it perfect for beginners and those who enjoy unpredictable, dynamic artwork.
Alcohol ink art uses vibrant, alcohol-based inks on non-porous surfaces such as Yupo paper or ceramics, as well as canvas boards. The inks spread and blend with each other, creating fluid, abstract forms with rich, luminous colors. The techniques like blowing, blending, and layering to manipulate the inks into soft, flowing patterns are used. It's a versatile and exciting medium, offering endless possibilities for creating bright, organic, and ethereal designs
Majority of materials are provided in the class, however, if you would like to wear an apron, gloves, safety glasses you are welcome to bring your own.
*Please note that your artwork will need to be picked up the following day (Feb 9th between 9:30 - 12pm), to allow for it to fully dry.
