Acrylic Landscapes for Beginners
Acrylic paintings of nature are wonderful for portraying local alluring landscapes that are vital, bold, and luminous. The Peterborough area harbours a lovely river, singular trees and colourful panoramic fields. Acrylic brings out an emotional response in viewers. It offers a sense of hope and serenity. This is a workshop for you if you have not yet started painting or have just begun. Allow this course to release the creative artist inside. Acrylics allow light to reflect and offers a radiant effect. Acrylic paint allows you to make changes if you wish to do something different.
Using locally sourced reference photographs, you will manipulate acrylics to become even better in your painting. You will talk about surfaces and how they can add to the quality of paintings. Learning about values ranging from light to mid-tones to darks will be incorporated into your paintings. Exploring shapes, contrasts, light and shadow are important topics to cover and you will experiment to create depth using aerial perspective.
Demonstrations and a step-by-step method will be used throughout the workshop. There will be critiques emphasizing what each artist has done well and share learnings. This workshop is intended to stimulate your sense of happiness.
Please Note: A week by week breakdown will be coming soon. Materials are the responsibility of the participant.
