Watercolour Landscapes for Beginners
As artists we love to tap into our local art scene by depicting our local scenery. We love to paint our own landscapes that surround us for personal, historic, and nostalgic reasons. We will paint local views together that are distinct and unique to the Peterborough area. This 8-week watercolour workshop series is designed to teach the skills you will need as a watercolour artist using the images that are right here, right now. That means learning the basics: how to paint from a photograph, how to use the watercolour medium, how to mix colour, how to work within a successful composition and how to nail a center of interest that will make your art stand out.
Learning to paint, like so many things in life, is a process. First it means being brave enough to get started. Then it means learning to be kind to yourself as you learn the skills, the techniques, try out tips, learn to look and then to see and it definitely means not judging yourself harshly. Painting is fun. Painting can pull you into that exciting, joyful place where your right brain parties.
There will be demonstrations and a step-by-step approach. You will be encouraged to breathe.
Please Note: A week by week description and a material list will be provided soon. Registrants are required to bring their own materials.
